Child Safety Standards
Project Credo has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). These standards apply to everything on Project Credo, including posts, comments, profiles, boards, board chat, and images. They are part of our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service .
What we prohibit
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind, including drawn, edited, or AI-generated images of minors.
- Sexualising anyone under 18, including sexual comments about a minor's body or appearance.
- Grooming: building trust with a minor to exploit them, or moving a minor to a private channel for that purpose.
- Sextortion: threatening to share intimate images of a minor, or demanding images, money or favours from them.
- Trafficking, or offering or seeking sexual contact with minors.
- Sharing a minor's personal information in a way that could put them at risk.
- Linking to, promoting, or asking where to find any of the above.
Discussing child safety research, such as studies on abuse prevention, is allowed when it doesn't include any of the above.
Who can use Project Credo
You must be at least 13 years old to use Project Credo. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to our Terms on your behalf.
How to report
- Email safety@projectcredo.com with a link to the post, comment, or profile. These reports go only to Project Credo, never to board admins, and are reviewed before any other report.
- Don't download, screenshot, or share the content, even to report it. Reporting it is enough.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
- You can also report directly to the NCMEC CyberTipline (US), or to your national hotline through INHOPE.
What we do
- We review child safety reports first, with a target of acting within 24 hours.
- We remove violating content and permanently ban the accounts responsible. Banned users may not return under a new account.
- We report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as US law requires.
- We preserve the related account information for as long as the law requires, and cooperate with law enforcement.
- We tell the reporter we acted, but never repeat the content back to them.
Board admins
Board admins don't see or handle child safety reports. If an admin comes across content like this, they should report it to safety@projectcredo.com rather than only removing it, so that we can act on the account and meet our legal obligations.
Contact
Our child safety contact can be reached at safety@projectcredo.com. We use the same address to work with app stores, NCMEC, and law enforcement.
